Converter Box Coupon Program

If you have an analog television and rely on over-the-air signals with an antenna, you will need a set-top digital converter box to continue to watch television on your analog TV. You will need a separate box for each television you want to receive a picture and any devices that use an analog tuner, such as an analog-only VCR.

The federal government is currently distributing up to two digital converter box coupons per household worth $40. The anticipated cost of the box is between $50 and $70 and it is available for purchase in local stores.

You can request a digital converter box coupon until March 31, 2009 while supplies last. To apply for coupons online, by phone, mail or fax, or to find a retailer near you, visit www.dtv2009.gov.

To get Ready4DTV, you could also consider subscribing to cable or satellite service or buying a new television with a built-in digital tuner.
